Prof. Dr. Valeri Çakalov

Prof. Dr. Valeri Chakalov was born in 1957 in Devnya, Bulgaria. He graduated from the Graphic Arts Department of the Sofia National Academy of Arts in 1984, from the Atelier of G. Simeonov. The artist became a member of the Bulgarian Painters Union in 1989. Çakalov has been working as a Professor of Visual Arts at the University of Shumen “Episcope Konstantin Preslavski” since 2008.

Having opened dozens of personal exhibitions at home and abroad, the artist has participated in more than two hundred group exhibitions, group exhibitions, art projects and painting symposiums. He has participated in exhibitions and artistic projects representing Bulgarian art in various European countries, Canada and the USA. Hundreds of works of the artist are in museums, galleries and private collections in Bulgaria, Europe and different countries of the world..

The famous artist has always been a role model to his students with his dynamic works, use of different materials and his own innovative style. He took part in many different artistic, cultural and aesthetic projects and made successful works.

Çakalov’s art is innovative in every way, bold, full of unlimited use of materials and plastic fantasies. In addition, he has taken his place as a famous and contemporary artist in world art with his unique understanding of art and working style.
