Ergin Çavuşoğlu was born in 1968 in Eski Cuma. Çavuşoğlu graduated from İliya Petrov Sofia National Art School in 1986 and later, in 1995, graduated from Istanbul Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting Department with a first degree. He worked as a manager at Istanbul BBA Advertising Agency. He received his MA from Goldsmith Collegov Art in London, England. He was a lecturer at Portsmuth University and completed his doctorate at the same university. The artist earned the position of ‘Contemporare Arts Professor’ in London Middlesex University Faculty of Art & Design in 2010. He still continues this duty at the same university.

Çavuşoğlu held dozens of solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Istanbul, London, European Countries and America. In addition to his paintings, Çavuşoğlu also directed sculpture, installation, conceptual art, video, short films and films, and dozens of his works are in museums, galleries and collections of different countries. He is an artist who has exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Winner of dozens of awards, Çavuşoğlu also participated in Contemporare Arts Istanbul 2022, in addition to the World Biennials, the Istanbul Biennial. Çavuşoğlu, who has made a name in contemporary art, produces with a modern and innovative approach that does not recognize material restrictions, and continues to work in his workshop in London.
