Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu

İsmet Çavuşoğlu was born in 1946 in Old Friday. He received a bachelor’s degree from Anadolu University in 1994, a master’s degree from Istanbul Mimar Sinan University in 1997, and a Proficiency in Art diploma from Mimar Sinan University in 1999. After the end of his education life, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2007. In 2012, he worked as a ‘Professor’ and Founding Dean at Yalova University, Faculty of Art and Design.

 

Çavuşoğlu has been a productive name in the art life as well as in academia and has opened 81 personal exhibitions at domestic and abroad so far. He also took part in more than one hundred national and international group exhibitions and competitions. In this process, he was awarded with eleven awards.

 

He participated in symposiums, art fairs and auctions with dozens of painting works at domestic and abroad. More than 1000 series are in Turkish and world museums, galleries and private collections. In addition to oil painting, he also works on mosaics, sgraffiti, frescoes, printing techniques and watercolors. In 2019, he was appointed as the Deputy Dean to the Faculty of Fine Arts of Istanbul Gelişim University, and left his post at the end of 2020. He is still working as a lecturer at the same faculty and continues his painting studies in his workshop in Istanbul. From time to time, he conducts scientific / artistic research and painting studies in England and the United States.
