MUSTAFA GÜNAY

Mustafa Günay was born in 1994 in Hatay. He completed his undergraduate education in Azerbaijan, Baku, Azerbaijan State Painting Academy in 2009. He completed his master’s degree at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Painting. He completed his proficiency in art in the field of Graphic Design at Istanbul Arel University. Returning to Turkey in 2011, Günay started his academic career as a lecturer at Istanbul Gelişim University. In 2020, he was appointed as the Head of the Department of Design at Istanbul Gelişim University as an Assistant Professor.

Developing important artistic projects and taking part in many projects, the artist has participated in dozens of national and international (USA, Germany, England, Russia, Israel, Georgia, Azerbaijan, TRNC. Turkey, etc.) group exhibitions with his works and organized personal exhibitions. In terms of education, the Azerbaijan State Academy of Painting in Baku is an example of the ‘Surikov’ State Academy in Moscow. The artist has received a serious, classical and academic art education from world-renowned painters and reflects this discipline in his drawing and oil painting works. He established the TurkuazArt Workshop in Istanbul in 2015 and contributed to the training of many young artists with his strong and classical education experience. Known for his productive and hardworking personality, who gives importance to realistic works as an artist, Günay gained fame with the national art projects he realized and proved that he can achieve great works in the field of art in the future.

This exhibition includes 25 works from the Traces of Life pencil drawing collection. In this series of works, the artist usually deals with portraits of old people, highlighting the reflections of life experiences on the human face.
